Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Halifax County east of Porters Lake, Guysborough County and Cape Breton.
20-40mm of rain is expected from the South Shore up to Halifax. For the northern part of the province, winds are the main concern, with gusts of up to 90 expected this evening.
The rest of the province is expected to get winds around 80.
The forecaster warns of the risk of damages and power outages.
