Miracle Marathon exceeds expectations

By Tim Davidson Nov 27, 2023 | 12:04 PM

The 33rd annual Miracle Marathon for the Salvation Army in Kenora was another big success.

During the 13 hour radio marathon $33,593 was raised.

That’s $10,000 more than last year.

On top of that, 3,835 of toys and non-perishable food items were donated for Christmas Hampers.

That’s about a thousand more than last year.

It breaks down to 2,447 pounds of food and 1,388 pounds of toys.

This year, for the first time ever, 89.5 The Lake and Q104 broadcast the Miracle Marathon.

The Salvation Army says those number will increase over the next two weeks with the Santa Claus Parade, Stuff-A-Cruiser and the Battle of the Bands at Casey’s.
