Town of Yarmouth to host tree, Frost Park lighting

By Kevin Northup Nov 24, 2023 | 6:04 AM

A holiday tradition for the Town of Yarmouth.

The tree in front of town hall will be lit Friday night at 6, along with Frost Park.

Mayor Pam Mood says staff work hard at this for weeks.

“Making sure that Frost Park has all the lights on the tree, our first nations neighbours donate the tree in front of town hall every year, we’re so thankful for that. Lots of people come out, and it’s always a great time,” says Mayor Mood.

Hot chocolate will be served in the park after the lighting, and Santa will make an appearance.

The Yarmouth Fire Department will also be collecting donations for the fuel bank.

Mood says with the holiday season approaching, it’s important to shop local.

“It’s important for the downtown and all our businesses and shops. Not just for the lighting, but the entire holiday season. It’s important that money stays in our community.”
