Snow squall watch in effect, could bring up to 10cm

By Caitlin Snow Nov 24, 2023 | 11:37 AM

Another weather alert from Environment Canada.

A snow squall watch is in effect again for Pictou, Antigonish, Inverness and Victoria counties, for Friday night and much of Saturday.

Flurries will develop this evening and could be heavy at times tonight. Cold west to northwest flow will also develop tonight and maintain flurry activity over the above areas into Saturday with risk of local snow squalls.

The forecaster says up to 10cm in the heaviest flurries could fall with higher amounts likely for the Cape Breton highlands.

Wind gusts could reach 50-60 km/h.

Visibility could also reduce suddenly during the heaviest snow.
