Four impaired driving arrests in less than 24 hours in HRM: Halifax RCMP

RCMP are reminding residents, to drive sober, as the holiday season approaches.

They say four people were arrested for impaired driving in less than 24 hours in HRM Wednesday.

The first was around 10:40am in Porters Lake on Highway 7 during a traffic stop.

Around 6pm, in Lower Sackville yesterday evening, RCMP say there was a hit and run near the intersection of Old Sackville Rd and Twelve Mile House Lane.

Just before 10pm, a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 103 in Upper Tantallon, then a second report on First Lake Dr in Lower Sackville.

Three of the suspects were men, and one woman ranging in age from 37-53.

They’ve all been released and will appear in court at a later date.

“Road safety impacts everyone and with the Holidays quickly approaching we want to remind motorists to drive sober,” says Cpl. Guillame Tremblay of the Halifax District RCMP, “Whether you’re hosting or attending a party ensure you plan ahead, consider staying the night, call a cab and offer non-alcoholic beverages.”
