It’s time to ‘Light Up Riverview’

By Tara Clow Nov 23, 2023 | 12:21 PM

Thousands will gather along the Petitcodiac in Riverview tonight.

Town officials will flick the switch on their annual Light Up Riverview event.

Mayor Andrew Leblanc says there are more than 40, 000 bulbs in the display, “It’s really exciting that Riverview has such a unique asset that’s really bringing attention from other parts of the country and so we’ve had national coverage on it as well. It’s good to have those little things that put you on the map.”

He adds this is one of the most popular nights that bring residents together.

“Everyone describes it as, walking through a little Hallmark movie,” Leblanc says.

The lights will be lit up at 7 pm Thursday night, with lots of activities along the Riverfront including hot chocolate, local vendors and a market that gets underway at 5 pm.

They’ll stay on throughout the holiday season, before going dark for another year on January 7.
