The Osprey Connector Trail, a new pathway linking the South Shore Annapolis Valley Trail, Arthur Young Trail, and the LaHave River Trail to the broader trail network, was officially opened this past Sunday.

Mayor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson highlighted the trail’s importance, stating, “This trail signifies a notable milestone in our Municipality’s dedication to enhancing local recreational offerings. It not only expands our trail network but also strengthens our connections with the wider community. The Osprey Connector Trail is a tangible manifestation of collaboration, uniting various trail groups, local businesses like the Best Western, and the Municipality itself. The commitment, cooperation, and shared vision of these stakeholders have been pivotal in bringing this project to fruition.”

More than just a physical link between trails, the Osprey Connector Trail fosters community connection, promoting a sense of belonging, encouraging a healthier lifestyle, and providing a space for residents and visitors to explore the natural beauty of the region.

Mayor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson emphasized the economic benefits tied to the growth of outdoor sports, noting the positive impact that large groups of trail enthusiasts have on the local economy. “These visitors come to stay, ride the trails, and contribute to the local economy, further solidifying our reputation as a premier destination for outdoor activities,” she added.
