DFO renews moderate livelihood understanding with several First Nations

By Kevin Northup Nov 21, 2023 | 11:52 AM

4 First Nations will get more lobster traps to fish for a moderate livelihood.

An interim authorization has been signed between the federal Department of Fisheries and the Acadia, Annapolis Valley, Bear River and Glooscap First Nations.

DFO says the renewal demonstrates the shared commitment to advance Treaty rights, and promote a safe, sustainable lobster fishery.
