A new Power Skating Coach for the Halifax Mooseheads.

Jonah Leroux is to join their staff.

The Mooseheads say he is well-known in the community and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. He had a lengthy playing career in the OHL that saw him appear in more than 300 games with the Oshawa Generals, Brampton Battalion, Ottawa 67’s and Sudbury Wolves. He later played U Sports for three seasons with the Dalhousie Tigers.

“We’re extremely pleased to have Jonah join our staff. He will be a welcome addition and is another example of our organization putting an emphasis on development,” said General Manager Cam Russell.

Leroux will work with each player individually and in groups on numerous occasions each month.

“Jonah is a great team member to have join our staff, and we are excited to utilize his expertise and strong background to help the players and assist our staff. This move further reinforces our unwavering commitment to have the best development culture, philosophy, and strategy at the forefront of everything we do,” said Sam Simon-Chairman/Owner of the Halifax Mooseheads, and Peter Simon-President of Simon Sports.

The move is in addition to the hiring of Player Development Consultant Jon Sim over the summer.
