Tickets are on sale now for the Capitol Theatre’s 2024 musical.

They’re partnering with Tutta Musica Orchestra once again to produce Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

Managing Director Kim Rayworth says the full cast was recently announced.

“It will be the seventh professional musical theatre production. Since 2016, this collaboration has delivered magic and wonder to local audiences with The Sound of Music, twice, Oliver!, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast and The Wizard of Oz,” said Rayworth.

The full cast is as follows:
Ariel – Emma Rudy
Prince Eric – Émilien Cormier
Grimsby – Jamie Cordes
Flounder – Molly Nelson / Olivier Émond
Scuttle – CJ Norris
King Triton – Curtis Sullivan
Sebastian – Travae Williams
Flotsam – Gabriella Castro-Levesque
Jetsam – Matt Kinney
Ursula – Kaitlyn Post
Chef Louis – JB Vanier

Ensemble (Pilot, Sailors, Sea Creatures, Mersisters, Gulls, Maids, Chefs, Animals, Princesses)
Danica Arsenault, Ève-Line Belliveau, Ellie Côté, Annette Crummey, Mark Doucet, Jessica Deveau, Robyn Esson, Hamza Khan, Sarah Hackett, Zack Lansel, Owen Leblanc, Sasha Leblanc, Juliet Lockhart, Ian MacGowan, Aryelle Morrison, Dan Parlee-Robichaud, Lynn Post, Arianny Vicent and Ismael Vitriago.

Approximately 35 cast members will be on stage for this production, along with 40 theatre professionals working behind the scenes, in addition to the 15 musicians forming the orchestra.

“It’ll be very similar to past years’ productions in terms of quality, size cast similar members of the production team and of course Marshall Button directing, and Anthony Delgado as the musical director,” Rayworth adds.

The cast features both professional performers, many of them local. The theatre also gives opportunities to those in the theatre academy classes.

“As can be expected for a production of this magnitude, many technical elements must come together in order to bring the ‘under the sea’ magic to life. As was the case for 2018’s Mary Poppins, a rigging company from Kentucky has been contracted to provide specialized equipment to safely fly cast members throughout the performance, providing audiences with a theatrically thrilling effect. Video design will work together with lighting and set design departments to create a mystical underwater world that is sure to wow audiences,” Rayworth says.

The Little Mermaid runs from February 23rd to March 3rd. Tickets are on sale now for the nine shows at the Capitol Theatre Box Office, online or by calling 506-856-4379 or 1-800-567-1922.

The Capitol Theatre is offering early bird pricing until December 22.

Rayworth says they are selling quickly.
