A 38-year-old man is facing charges following a series of incidents near Gagetown.

Police say a man reportedly fired a gun at another person in Elm Hill on Oct. 21.

The suspect, who was wanted on outstanding warrants, left before police got there.

On Nov. 5, police responded to another call at the same address, but the suspect fled again.

Officers later found the suspect’s vehicle near Jemseg and tried to stop it.

They said the vehicle drove into a field full of cattle and the driver ran into a river before surrendering.

The man, who is from Elm Hill, is now facing seven charges, including:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm while knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Assault
  • Uttering threats
  • Flight from police
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Failure to comply with a probation order

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
