On November 10, 2023, just before 2:00 p.m., members of the Sioux Lookout OPP Detachment responded to a two-vehicle collision at a business on Fifth Avenue and Wellington Street in the municipality of Sioux Lookout.

Upon arrival, the driver of one of the motor vehicles was transported to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

An investigation determined that the driver of the second vehicle was impaired by drugs and was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, a 27-year-old, from Sioux Lookout, has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on January 9, 2024.
