The Thunder Bay District Health Unit will no longer be issuing media releases or social media posts for respiratory (including COVID-19) and gastrointestinal outbreaks.

This includes outbreaks in public hospitals and institutions (e.g., long-term care homes, and retirement homes).

The change is set to go into effect on Monday, November 13, 2023,

Up-to-date information on active outbreaks within the Thunder Bay District will continue to be available on the TBDHU website at: https://www.tbdhu.com/outbreakstatus

Outbreaks are updated on their website Monday through Friday (excluding statutory holidays).

Outbreak information will be removed from the website one week after an outbreak is declared over.
