NB Liquor, Cannabis NB second-quarter sales rise

NB Liquor sales were up in the second quarter ending October 1st.

Product sales totalled $150.7 million, up 1.8 per cent over the same period in 2022.

  • Wine sales increased 2.6 per cent, up $0.8 million
  • Spirit sales increased 0.9 per cent, up $0.3 million
  • Beer sales increased 1.2 per cent, up $0.8 million
  • Sales of coolers and cider increased 3.8 per cent, up $0.9 million

Net income for the quarter was $58.5 million, which was two per cent higher than the second quarter last year.

The Crown corporation saw 21 million transactions, with almost $42 spent on average.

Cannabis NB also saw gains in the same quarter.

Total product sales are up 16.7 per cent from the same period in 2022.

  • sales of dried flowers increased 10.5 per cent, up $1.2 million
  • extracts sales decreased 16.1 per cent, down $0.1 million
  • sales of accessories increased 22.7 per cent, up $0.2 million
  • sales of edibles increased 26.7 per cent, up $0.4 million
  • sales of infused beverages increased 59.4 per cent, up $0.2 million
  • sales of topicals decreased 12.5 per cent, down $31.1 thousand
  • concentrates sales increased 27.0 per cent, up $1.7 million

There were 418,000 transactions, with around $60 spent on average.

Net income for the quarter was $6.7 million, which is up 37.7 per cent above the prior year’s second-quarter net income of $4.8 million.
