A 51-year-old man has serious injuries after being assaulted by a bat in Hatchet Lake.

RCMP say it was November 2 just after 9am outside a home on Westridge Rd.

A 43-year-old man assaulted the victim with a bat after a verbal altercation.

Both men are from Hatchet Lake and know each other.

The suspect was arrested but later released on conditions and will appear in court in January.
