Ontario Provincial Police in Kenora want access to your residential or commercial security cameras.

It’s part of a new program called CAMSafe, which the service says it would use to tackle crime in the community.

Officers would have access to a database which shows available cameras in the area, and then would contact the owners for use.

The OPP states officers would not be able to access the cameras or cloud-based accounts and would only make requests using the database contact information.

Residents only need to provide the basic contact information and camera location but can provide more details if interested.
