Sharks medal in first meet of the season

The Kenora Sharks Swim Club came away from their first meet of the season with several medals.

The Sharks competed at the Bison Sprint Meet in Winnipeg.

15 year old Tazio Mastromatteo placed first in the 50-meter breaststroke and second in both the 100-meter IM and 50-meter freestyle, also qualifying for the Ontario Youth Championships in the men’s 50-meter freestyle.

13 year old Josh Benson place second in the men’s 100-meter individual medley and third in the men’s 50-meter
freestyle, also qualifying for the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Provincials in the 50-meter freestyle.

In the mixed category, 10 year old Josephine Hill secured third place in the 25-meter breaststroke.

17 year old Natalia Debbo qualified for both the Manitoba-Saskatchewan and Ontario Provincials in women’s 50
freestyle in the para-swimming competition.

In addition to the medals, a number of swimmers finished in the top eight including:  Liam Serino (12), Mary Edlund (13), Kate McKie (16), Eli Dawe (17), and Devyn Milloy (11).
