Just before midnight on Halloween officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response Branch were dispatched to Machar Avenue in response to a possible shooting.

Paramedics with the Superior North EMS were also dispatched to the scene.

An injured male was located and transported to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for treatment.

The Major Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, and K9 Unit attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and police maintain a presence in the area.
