TBPA Parade of Lights returns

By CJ Goater Nov 1, 2023 | 2:20 PM

The 24th annual Thunder Bay Police Association Parade of Lights is set to be held on December 2 at 7 p.m.

100% of donations from the parade will go to Autism Ontario-Thunder Bay and District, George Jeffrey Children’s Centre, Special Olympics Ontario-Thunder Bay, and the Thunder Bay Therapeutic Riding Association.

There will be “parade walkers” along the route collecting donations.

The parade will commence at its normal starting point at Manitoulin Transport (161 Main Street), and proceed along Main St (which becomes Harbour Expressway) to Memorial Avenue, followed by a right turn onto Queen St, followed by a quick right onto Fort William Road and down to Water St.

The final stretch of the parade along (Fort William Road to Water st), is the sensory-friendly portion of the parade, ideal for people who are not okay with loud noises.

Last year $45,636.10 was raised and the goal for this year is to beat that number.

50 vehicles are currently registered for the parade and there is still time for more to register.

Those who do not carry cash, or cannot attend the event, but still wish to donate can do so online here.
