If you want to have a say in the upcoming policing budget in Halifax, there are a few options coming up.
The municipal force is asking for money to hire 24 new officers due to a need for boots on the ground to do patrols.
Eighteen of the 24 would be constable positions.
The board overseeing the Halifax police has asked for a costed-out plan for their request, which includes implementing body cameras.
Input will be gathered during a meeting on November 22.
Last year’s budget topped $94 million with the majority of it going to salary and benefits.
