One person has been airlifted to hospital following a collision on Highway 11/17 near Pearl.

The incident occurred this morning when a vehicle struck a pedestrian in a construction zone.

A spokesperson for the Ontario Provincial Police states officers were dispatched to assist Shuniah Fire and Emergency Services and EMS.

The Ministry of Labour has been notified and will be taking over the investigation, which the OPP says will not have an impact on highway traffic.
