Two people are facing over a dozen charges after police seized two loaded firearms and drugs at a home in Halifax in relation to an ongoing investigation.
Police say it was on Kingsmere Court around 5am Friday morning.
They seized over 400 grams of cocaine, more than 2,000 opioid pills and around $17,000.
A man, 32, will appear in court today, while a woman, 29, will appear in court at a later date facing the following charges:
- Possession of a firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime (x2)
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon or ammunition without a license
- Possession of a firearm without a license or certificate (x2)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized (x2)
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (x2)
- Storing a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations (x2)
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Tampering with the serial number on a firearm
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
The man is also facing the following charges in relation to the search:
- Possession of a firearm contrary to a court order (x4)
- Possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon or ammunition without a license
