Survey looks at whether Canadians are in the Halloween spirit

By Tara Clow Oct 30, 2023 | 12:02 PM

Making plans for Halloween? A Leger survey finds other Canadians are too.

Seventy-nine percent of Canadians whose children are old enough to trick or treat will be going out.

But only 48 percent of those asked will be handing out candy.  An even lower amount, 37 percent will decorate their house for Halloween.

Seventy-one percent of Canadians will spend around the same amount on Halloween as last year.   On average, $64.20 for things like costumes, candy, and decorations.

Parents plan to spend a bit more at $115.80.

Only 28 percent plan to celebrate the spooky day in 2023.

Over 1,500 Canadians over the age of 18 responded to the poll that was done between October 20 to 22.
