Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is among those paying tribute to former Friends star Matthew Perry.
Fifty-four-year-old Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his LA home on Saturday.
The US born TV and movie actor grew up in Canada and attended school with Trudeau.
On X, formerly Twitter, the prime minister says he’ll never forget the schoolyard games they used to play, and that people around the world are never going to forget the joy Perry brought them.
As well, the Ottawa Senators posted a video on their social media pages of the Hollywood star wearing a Sens jersey at one of their games.
The NHL team says they are “Saddened to learn about the passing of Matthew Perry, one of Ottawa’s proudest sons and the biggest hockey fan.”
Matthew Perry’s passing is shocking and saddening. I’ll never forget the schoolyard games we used to play, and I know people around the world are never going to forget the joy he brought them. Thanks for all the laughs, Matthew. You were loved – and you will be missed.
