The search continues for a man considered armed and dangerous after two mass shootings in Maine.

A total of 18 people were killed and 13 others were injured, Gov. Janet Mills said during a news conference Thursday morning.

“I continue to strongly urge Maine people to follow the direction of state and local law enforcement amid this ever-changing situation,” said Mills.

Maine State Police said the shootings were reported around 7 p.m. Wednesday at a restaurant and a bowling alley in Lewiston, located halfway between Augusta and Portland.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 40-year-old Robert Card, who police say is considered armed and dangerous.

Residents in the Lewiston, Lisbon and Bowdoin areas have been told to shelter in place.
