Emergency crews were called to Monseigneur Lang Road in Saint-Basile around 6:45 a.m. Monday.

“The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of the vehicle attempted to avoid deer on the road, lost control of the vehicle, and hit a culvert,” RCMP said in a news release on Tuesday.

The driver of the vehicle, a 59-year-old woman from Saint-Basile, was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries on Tuesday.
