Remembrance Day ceremony moved from Grand Parade

There won’t be a Remembrance Day ceremony at Grand Parade this year – it’s moving across the Halifax Harbour.

According to multiple reports, the Nunavut and Nova Scotia Command of the Legion has decided the event will instead be at Sullivan’s Pond in Dartmouth because of the tents in front of City Hall.

It’s one of six new encampment sites for people who are homeless in the municipality.

Similarly, the annual Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers Memorial was recently relocated to the RCMP headquarters in Burnside.

People will still be able to place wreaths at the Grand Parade Cenotaph.
