The All-Nations Hospital Steering Committee is still playing a waiting game with the Ministry of Health.

But initial design plans for the new hospital have been released.

Lake of the Woods District Hospital Chief Executive Officer Ray Racette says they felt was important for the public to see the plans.

“We are still waiting for everything to be approved, although we are having discussions,” explains Racette.

“We had a steering committee meeting and just felt we needed to at least say something in terms of where we are.  We decided  to share very high level elements.”

Racette adds that until the project is approved, they can’t buy any land for the new hospital, so the plans that were released don’t specify an exact location.

“We just wanted to indicate it would be on a new site.  The actual site, where it is, will be it’s own announcement once the project is moving forward with approval.”

Racette Phase 3 will include detailed design plans of the new hospital,  but first they need the Ministry of Health to approve their Phase 2 planning.
