Province launches new healthcare improvement challenge with a $1,000 cash prize

By Caitlin Snow Oct 23, 2023 | 10:40 AM

If you work in healthcare, or in a field that is linked to healthcare and at least 18 years of age, you could win up to $1000 cash for giving your input on how to improve the system.

In a new contest that starts October 23, the province encourages participants to submit one or more common sense ideas that are simple and require little to no funding.

“We have no shortage of talented people who work across the spectrum of healthcare in our province, providing care to Nova Scotians every day,” said Premier Tim Houston. “They live and breathe the system daily, and many of them have great ideas that can improve healthcare for patients and for their colleagues. We want to hear those solutions and put them into action.”

For all ideas received, 20 will be shortlisted. Nova Scotians will then vote for their top 10, which will be given priority by the government.

For those who submit, up to 50 prizes can be won. There is a limit of one prize per person and odds of winning, depend on the number of entries received.

The contest ends November 22.
