The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association wants more funding for the Northern Ontario Medical School University.

NOMA has passed a resolution asking the provincial government to add 4 million dollars to NOSM’s base budget.

The resolution, passed onto local municipal council’s for support, says that current base funding rates have not been increased sufficiently to accommodate growth and expansion.

NOMA says there has been unprecedented growth in the medical programs at NOSM and it says the extra funding is needed to meet it’s mandate of providing more physicians for this region.
