A 25-year-old Thunder Bay man faces first-degree murder charges in connection to an ongoing homicide investigation.

He was located and arrested by members of the Break and Enter and Robbery Unit in the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 19.

He was transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were originally dispatched to a residential address in the 300 block of Ogden Street at about 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, following reports that a deceased male was located.

That’s when members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crime and Forensic Identification Units became involved in the ongoing investigation which was being treated as a homicide.

A post-mortem of the victim took place in Toronto, and the scene has since been released.

He is expected to appear in court today.
