Hearings coming on Cheticamp’s future electoral boundary

By Kevin Northup Oct 20, 2023 | 1:14 PM

A hearing on establishing Cheticamp as an electoral riding will be held in Port Hawkesbury.

Nova Scotia’s Acadian Federation will be at Nova Scotia Supreme Court on Monday and Tuesday.

They want the Acadian community to have their own representative in the Legislature.

In 2019, the ridings of Clare, Argyle and Richmond were restored after a recommendation by the electoral boundaries commission.

The commission did not recommend Cheticamp for its own riding, as they determined the area was too small.
