Angela Halverson-Smith becomes the Corporation’s new executive director on November 1.

She replaces Geoff Gillion, who plans to retire by the end of next March but will stay on until then to assist with the transition of duties.

“I am thrilled to move into the Executive Director position and look forward to working with our partners to continue to move the corporation and our district to a future of growth and prosperity,” says Halverson. “I am grateful to our Board of Directors for their trust in me, my work, and the direction that the corporation will take in the future.”

Halverson-Smith has been with RRFDC for the past 24 years and is currently the Business Investment Manager.

She has also received many accolades during her career, including Influential Woman of the Year for the Public Sector, Top 20 under 40 Young Professionals, and Exceeding the Vision Top 20 in 20 Platinum Award from PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise.

Angela has also served on several boards, such as the Rainy River Federation of Agriculture, Community Futures Ontario, and various other agricultural and equine associations.

She is also the owner of Dreamweaver Ranch in Emo.
