Rock Tech has released a statement announcing that the districts of Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Nipissing, and the Leeds and Grenville areas have made the shortlist for a potential lithium converter site, estimated to be open in the province in 2027.
The company also hopes to develop an integrated lithium supply chain by 2027.
A strategy and execution team is currently in Ontario to conclude assessments of shortlisted sites.
Rock Tech is a cleantech company with operations in Canada and Germany looking to produce lithium hydroxide for electric vehicle batteries.
Rock Tech has also announced they are relocating its Canadian headquarters to Ontario.
