Muskies win 3 of 4 exhibition games

The Fort Frances Muskies girls’ hockey team kicked off their season with an exhibition series that includes the Dryden Eagles, Thomas Aquinas Saints and the Thunder Bay Queens U18 team.

The Muskies lost their opening game Friday to the Queens 5-2.

Kiera Fairington and Marlee Bliss scored for the Muskies.

On Saturday, the Muskies doubled up St. Thomas Aquinas 4-2 before shutting out the Queens in a night game 3-0.

Bella Fry, Karsyn McQuaker, Sienna Tom, and Marlee Bliss scored in the morning matchup.

Fairington figured in all of the scoring in the late game with a goal and an assist.

Scoring the other goals were Fry with the game-winner and Courtney McCoy.

The Muskies wrapped up the exhibition series on Sunday with a 7-2 win over the Dryden Eagles.

Fry notched a hat trick, with Hayden Allam, Marissa Kenny, McCoy, and McQuaker adding the others.
