While much of the world focuses on the turmoil in Gaza and Israel, another country in the region is in recovery, Afghanistan.

Over the past week the country has been rocked by four earthquakes which have claimed the lives of more than 1,300 people, injured thousands of others and completely leveled communities.

Two struck on October 7th, and were followed up by two other seismic events on October 11th and 15th.

All have classified as a 6.3 on the Richter scale and localized in the city of Herat.

The earthquakes were followed up by aftershocks which varied between 5.5 and 5.9 on the Richter scale.
