Ice Dogs dominate in 11-0 win over Kenora

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs held the Kenora Islanders to just ten shots as the first-place Ice Dogs scored a decisive 11-0 win over the Islanders in Dryden.

Geoff Bjarnason, Bryce Benfield and Kaden Bandura each scored twice.

Caige Starr, Harrison James, Max Roby, Ezekiel Kirkness, and Sean Smith added the others.

Ewan Sauter earned his second shutout of the season for the win.

In Sioux Lookout, the Bombers needed the shootout to get by the Fort Frances Lakers 4-3.

The Lakers had rallied from a 3-1 deficit to send the game into overtime, where the teams decided nothing.

The Bombers scored on two of three shootout attempts, with the league’s leading scorer, Owen Riffle, notching the deciding winner.

Dayvan Bull, Connor Burke, and Dale Horseman scored for the Bombers in regulation time.

Ryker Watt, Cobe Delaney, and Brady Krentz replied for the Lakers, who earned their first point of the year with the loss.

In Oliver-Paipoonge, all the scoring in the Kam River Fighting Walleye-Wisconsin Wilderness game came in the first period as the Walleye edged the Wilderness 2-1.

A shorthanded marker with less than 3 minutes remaining in the opening stanza by Jeremy Dunmore stood as the game-winner.

Daxton Lang had the other goal for the Walleye.

Zach Johnson scored for Wisconsin.

Garren Voisey’s goal 1:32 into overtime gave the Thunder Bay North Stars their second straight win over the Red Lake Miners in Red Lake 3-2.

Keagan Jones and Edison Weeks added the other Stars’ goals in regulation time.

Aiden Corbett had both goals for the home side.
