Five people were arrested in North Preston early Thursday morning for firearms offences.
RCMP say it was around 3:45am when they searched a home on Clarence St in relation to an ongoing investigation.
They arrested three women and two men ranging in ages between 69 and 27.
They seized a sub-machine gun, three shotguns, two handguns, ammunition, magazines and a ballistic vest.
Three of them are facing charges including:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm (six counts);
- Careless Use of a Firearm (six counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (six counts);
- Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon or Restricted Weapon (three counts);
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (six counts);
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (three counts);
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition (four counts)
- Possession of Weapon Obtained by the Commission of an Offence (six counts)
- Laundering Proceeds of Crime
The other two arrested were later released.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects have or are scheduled to appear in court.
