4 arrested in East End drug raid

Four people have been arrested including two from Southern Ontario following a drug bust on McLaughlin Street.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Services Emergency Task Unit executed a warrant at two addresses just before p.m. Tuesday, with assistance from the TBPS Intelligence Unit, Ontario Provincial Police and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.

There they seized a quantity of cocaine and fentanyl along with more than $5000 in cash and other items associated with the drug trade.

As officers entered the home two of the accused were taken into custody with out incident, while two others resisted, which resulted in a brief struggle.

The two accused from Southern Ontario, a 27 year old Toronto man and a 35 year old Barrie man have each been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Proceeds of Property of Crime Over $5,000
• Obstruct Peace Officer

Meanwhile a 39 year old Thunder Bay man faces:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Proceeds of Property of Crime Over $5,000
• Failure to Comply with a Release Order

Additionally a 31 year old woman faces the charges of:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Proceeds of Property of Crime Over $5,000

All four were remanded into custody following a court appearance Wednesday.
