The Dryden Eagles Football team has improved to 3-2 in the Winnipeg High School Football.

The Eagles downed the Daniel McIntyre Maroons 35-14 Friday afternoon.

Dryden led 29-0 at the half.

The Eagles now prepare for their Homecoming game against the St. Norbert Celtics on Friday.

That game is a 2:00 start.

 

The Kenora U18 AAA Thistles went 0-2 over the weekend against the top team in the Manitoba U18 AAA hockey league, the Brandon Wheat Kings.

The Thistles lost their first game Saturday night 4-1.

The Wheat Kings scored three times in the third period to ice the win.

On Sunday, Brandon stormed out to a 10-2 victory.

The Thistles next game is on the road as they take on the Southwest Cougars in Souris, Manitoba next Saturday and Sunday.

 

The Kenora Islanders just had one game over the weekend, but they lost 7-3 to the Sioux Lookout Bombers Saturday night in the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

Blake Burt and Owen Riffel had three point games for the Bombers with Burt scoring twice and Riffel adding a goal and two assists.

Tait Howell also scored twice for Sioux Lookout.

Keanu Woodhouse, Tristen Bear and Aaron Bertschinger scored for the Islanders.

Next up for the Islander at the Dryden GM Ice Dogs on Friday, while the Bombers will host the Fort Frances Lakers.
