Dartmouth man facing slew of charges after police chase in Lake Echo

A Dartmouth man is facing a slew of charges after a police chase in Lake Echo.

RCMP say it was Saturday afternoon around 3pm on Highway 7 when a GMC Terrain drove away from a traffic stop.

When officers found the vehicle, it was on Linda Lane, a dead-end street.

One 34-year-old passenger got out and ran away, while the driver tried to turn around but crashed into another police car.

A 33-year-old Cole Harbour woman as well as the RCMP officer who was driving had minor injuries.

The 34-year-old came back but was uninjured.

The 39-year-old driver of the GMC had minor injuries and will appear in court today facing these charges:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm;
  • Flight from Police;
  • Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Involving Bodily Harm;
  • Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm;
  • Refusal of a Demand;
  • Assault with a Weapon;
  • Assaulting a Peace Officer;
  • Obstructing a Peace Officer (2 counts)
