Ice Dogs/Bombers continue to pace SIJHL

The Sioux Lookout Bombers remain unbeaten in regulation time this season after a 7-3 win over the Kenora Islanders in Sioux Lookout Saturday.

Tait Howell scored twice for the Bombers with Blake Burke, Owen Riffel, his 10th, Jonah Smith, Connor Burke, and Nolan Palmer adding singles.

Jeremiah Jacques, Aaron Bertschinger and Tristen Bear scored for the Islanders.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs remain a point ahead of the Bombers in the SIJHL standings with a 4-1 win over the Thunder Bay North Stars.

Max Roby had a pair of goals for the Ice Dogs, with Eli Antoine and Ben Coatham adding the others.

EJ Paddington scored the lone goal for Thunder Bay.

Skyler Carriere scored twice for Red Lake in the Miners’ 8-3 victory over the visiting Wisconsin Wilderness.

Gabe Tanton, Jared Burnett, Luke DeCorby, Carter Deschamps, Bryson Carlyle, and Brody Lindal also replied for the Miners, who remain tied with the Kam River Fighting Walleye for third spot in the standings.

Koen Burkholder, Marshall Thomas, and Nolan Fowler scored for the Wilderness.

The Walleye won their fourth in a row by defeating the Fort Frances Lakers 6-2 in Fort Frances.

Jett Mintenko had a pair of goals for Kam River.

Brydon Bell, Caleb Labelle, Riley Borody, and Kaden Goodwin had the other goals.

Landon Lowes and Pierce Gouin replied for the Lakers, who remain winless after five starts.
