A man from Baudette has been killed in a motor vehicle collision west of International Falls.

It happened late Friday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a transport came into collision with an SUV that was turning onto Highway 11 near Birchdale.

Members of the Birchdale Fire Department, along with Lake of the Woods, International Falls and Baudette Ambulance departments, and the Lake of the Wood and Koochiching County Sheriff’s Departments responded.

The driver of the SUV, 72-year-old Gary Lee Warnken, was pronounced dead.

The driver of the transport was not hurt.
