The Canada Games Complex is set to re-open to the public on October 18 at 5:45 a.m., after a four-and-a-half month closure for renovations.

The work focused on the improvement of energy efficiency and accessibility.

The accessibility work done includes upgrades to changrerooms, and showers, the addition of a universal barrier-free change room, and new accessible washrooms.

The facility had a new boiler system installed and received an upgrade to its heating and cooling system controls.

The pool itself also received some work as the pump system was worked on and the north wall was replaced.

The work was 80 percent funded by external sources, including the federal Green and Inclusive Community Building Fund. The total cost of the project was $3 million.

Registration for swimming lessons will open on Tuesday, October 11 at 8:30 a.m.
