By Tim Davidson Oct 6, 2023 | 8:13 PM

The Beaver Brae Broncos downed the Fort Frances Muskies 22-14 in the Winnipeg High School League Friday afternoon in a slugfest.

The Broncos got out to an early lead with majors from Kellen Mandamin and Triton Peters.

But the Muskies got their own touchdown when Blake Kreger returned an interception into the end zone.

Before halftime, Muskie quarterback Parker Booth connected with receiver Seamus Barkley for a major and the teams ended the half tied 15-15.

The teams failed to score in the third quarter.

Mandamin rounded out the scoring for the Broncos in the fourth on a five-yard touchdown run, while James Shouldice punted for a single.

With the win, the Broncos improve to 5-0, while the Muskies fall to 4-1.

That ends Beaver Brae’s home season with the final two games on the road, including next Friday in Winnipeg against the St. John’s Tigers.

The Muskies are at home against the Churchill Bulldogs.
