As major redevelopment continues in Halifax’s Cogswell District, there will be two phases of street closures.
In a release, the municipality says Phase 1 gets underway October 18th and means Cogswell Street, from Brunswick to Barrington streets, will be closed until June.
Then when Phase 2 begins, a new detour road connecting the new permanent Cogswell to Barrington will open
The project will convert 16 acres of road infrastructure into a mixed-use neighborhood that connects the downtown with the north end.
With a budget of $122.6 million, the work is expected to be complete in 2025.
