Most city buildings closed today

By Tim Davidson Oct 2, 2023 | 12:22 PM

For the second day in a row, many of the city facilities will be closed.

Yesterday was due to the power interruption and today it’s a statutory holiday for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on Saturday.

City clerk Heather Pihulak says there will be some exceptions.

“The transfer station will be open, so will the recreation centers (Moncrief Construction Sports Center, the Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena,” explains Pihulak.

“The Muse will be closed, the Library will be closed.”

Pihulak says any administration buildings are closed today.

“It’s the buildings that are not a seven day operations.  It’s a little confusing because we had the power interruption yesterday as well as the recognition for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Saturday).”

She adds that they’ll have all the information of the City of Kenora website, Facebook page and Instagram.
