Bombers remain unbeaten

Connor Burke and Owen Riffel each scored twice to help the Sioux Lookout Bombers to a 4-2 over the Wisconsin Wilderness in Spooner, Wisc., in one of the three SIJHL games played Friday night.

Blake Burke assisted on all four of Sioux Lookout’s goals.

The win leaves the Bombers alone atop the standings.

Nolan Fowler and Ryan Kayser scored Wisconsin’s goals.

In Red Lake, the Miners scored four unanswered goals after giving up two first-period goals to defeat the visiting Dryden GM Ice Dogs 4-2.

Harlan Jacobson, Luke DeCorby, Jared Burnett, and Blake Hiltermann scored for Red Lake.

Sean Smith and McLaren Paulsen replied for the Ice Dogs.

In Fort Frances, Daxton Lang scored twice at the Kam River Fighting Walleye dumped the Lakers 8-3.

Kobe Braham, Isiah Kinnavanthong, Braeden Duchesne, Max Wright, Carter Poddubny, and Jett Mintenko had the other goals for the Walleye.
Josh Greene, Cobe Delaney, and Jack Wood scored for Fort Frances.

Tonight, the Bombers and Wilderness hook up in Spooner for a second straight night, Dryden hosts Red Lake, and the Thunder Bay North Stars play in Kenora for the first of two games against the Islanders.
