A 35-year-old Halifax man has been arrested and charged after sexually assaulting a woman back in May.

On May 1, officers learned that the incident had occurred that day in the area of the Mainland Common baseball field near the Halifax Transit Lacewood Terminal. At roughly 1 p.m., the man approached a woman who was not known to him at the transit terminal, luring the victim to an area of the baseball field where he sexually assaulted her.

After more than four months of investigating, police arrested the suspect on September 6.

He is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face one count of sexual assault.
