Halifax Regional Police’s hate crime unit are investigating after a woman was assaulted on a public transit bus yesterday morning.

Police responded to the incident at around 10:40 a.m. and learned that man had boarded the Route 90 bus near 150 Bedford Highway. hey say he began yelling racial slurs at two women on the bus, then he threatened and assaulted one of them. He got off the bus in the Downtown Halifax area and left on foot.

The man is described as white, approximately 5’ tall, and bald. He was wearing a t-shirt, jeans, a jacket, black framed glasses and had a cane.
